Special Training is the most important part of our practice.
During Special Training we test our mental and physical limits by training hard over the course of several days. A Special Training typically lasts from three to four days, and there are several practices each day.
At the same time, Special Training gives a sense of community, as we practice together with members from many different dojos, support each other, and make new friends.
Most of our members go to Special Training twice a year, once in the winter and once in the summer. In the winter, members in the Bay Area get together for Norcal Winter Special training. In the summer, most West Coast SKA members meet at Summer Special Training, which takes place on the Cal State Channel Islands campus.
